Q: jQuery data() issues with inline elements I have an asp.net mvc 4 app using jQuery. I’m trying to use the data() function to move an element from one location to another but it isn’t working. I have a function that when called will change the text of the textarea from “test” to “new text” via the ID of the textarea – textArea. When the user clicks the save button the result should be a with a close class of “close”. I can get the text to change, but my attempts to get the with the close class of “close” failed. I’ve tried various things such as class selector, trying it this way too: var close = data(”); and var close = $data(”); Here is the fiddle – I’m using the data function because when I try to apply the class to the element via normal methods – it’s not working. So I’m stuck trying to use the data function. A: You are close. jQuery’s data() method sets/retrieves values based off of HTML attribute values. Your first line of code: var close = $data(”); Should be: var close = $data(‘p’); Additionally, change the this line: var textArea = $(‘#textArea’); to: var textArea = $(this).find(‘textarea’); Here is the updated fiddle: RFM identifies connectivity issues A BILLION DOLLAR PROBLEM A BILLION DOLLAR PROBLEM This spring has been difficult to participate in decision-making within our teams and also to get a chance to understand and appreciate the issues brought up by planning the Flow. Vodafone signs interconnection deals with Australian and New Zealand networks Australian mobile operator Vodafone today announced that it has signed interconnection agreements with Australian and New Zealand telcos, meaning that it can now provide wholesale services to all five networks operating in those countries. The announcement comes just days after the company revealed a similar deal in New Zealand that allows it to sell services to Optus, Vodafone’s New Zealand subsidiary. The company said today that the new agreements, which cover both sides of the Tasman, are the result of the “development of the market” after its initial deals with Optus and Vodafone were extended last year. “The development of the market means Vodafone is better able to provide enhanced wholesale services to networks in Australia and New Zealand, as well as enabling these networks to cross promote their own branded services in our markets,” Vodafone New Zealand general manager Greg Cholerton said in a statement. Vodafone’s relatively new Australian venture, Vodafone Hutchison Australia, also took advantage of the news, saying that it is “pleased” that Vodafone can provide it “with the required level of confidence and capacity to meet the growing demand for mobile broadband services across the country, especially in regional and remote areas.” The company said that it expects to deliver mobile network services to approximately 75 per cent of the population in the first half of the year, and that it will continue to work closely with its customers to make better use of network capacity. Vodafone said that the new deals will not affect its existing wholesale arrangements in the two countries, but that if Vodafone’s network in one country were to “go down” there would be no need for VHA to bring its network up, as it could simply use that country’s network as its own in the affected region. Why did the final draft get rejected? We’re using it as the sole source control for some large open-source projects and I’d like to make sure we don’t miss anything. I’ve found a few bugs in the past and I’ll fix them right away. On the other hand, I’d like to make sure we don’t
