Alright. Now that the excitement has died down (and the endless stream of Reddit comments have dried up), let’s take a look at some of the key happenings from the NBA this week:
Raptors watching tape on Curry
On Wednesday, Marc Stein reported that the Toronto Raptors were doing film on Stephen Curry, in anticipation of drafting the Golden State Warriors guard with the 9th pick in the draft (the team is slated to pick between 18 and 22nd.) The Raptors are also reportedly interested in Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Jackson. We shall see what happens.
Griffin on X’s and O’s
Blake Griffin made an appearance on The Jump this week and got really defensive about his desire to become a coach. He said that he’s done enough talking about the game, and he’s looking forward to tinkering with the X’s and O’s.
One of the hosts asked him who he would hire as the next head coach (sorry, can’t remember his name) and Griffin said it would be someone that is not “throwing his own money and taping it back to his cranium” and would be a “bachelor” of the game of basketball. He did eventually name a few coaches, but we’ll let the video speak for itself.
The Warriors make some noise
The Warriors have been pretty quiet on the X’s and O’s front for the past month. The team has been busy, but there’s really not much noise to make (unless you are interested in the minute and a half of noise that Jonathon Simmons made this week on social media regarding some taped comments from head coach Steve Kerr.)
