Totally awesome

I just wanted to make this quick post while I’m relaxing at home recovering from surgery. (I know, I’m super lame right now.) To remind you, Thursday is the day I turn 40, and Saturday I’m 40 years old.

Yea, I am totally way over the hill. Honestly, I never thought this would happen to me. But, I guess you’ve got to look at the glass half full. I’m okay, physically. I’ve been through this before so I know it will get better, but there is a lot of work I’m left to do, both mentally and spiritually.

The boy and I took a little trip to the mountains earlier this week. He was in need of an escape from all the work he was going through at school, and I, in need of some sunshine. He had a great time, but I was in pain. I haven’t been this limber since I was a kid… I’ve definitely grown up. haha (No, I’m not old. I’m a grown up. HA!)

But, seriously, it was a little difficult for me to ski. A lot of my strength was gone. It wasn’t just the time I’ve put on the treadmill for months and months, but the 1-2 years I’ve suffered through with this darn type 2 diabetes. It was a little nerve-wr
